The Canada Research Chair in Media, Disabilities and (Self) Representations will help to:

• Create an exhaustive and unprecedented database of Canadian media (self) representations of disabilities likely to feed scientific research.

Consult the Disability and Deafhood Database

• Contribute to reversing the very low media presence of people with disabilities by taking into consideration the mutual concerns and imperatives of community circles, media industries, academia and government authorities.

• Develop inclusive disability “media policies” that respect the rights and ethical principles associated with the recognition of these people.
