Thirty-seven researchers from UQAM will benefit from new research funds totaling $3,586,688, thanks to support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). These new funds are awarded through the Insight and Insight Development Grant programs for the year 2024. The announcement of a $123.1 million investment in humanities researchers across Canada was made on September 13 by the Minister of National Revenue, Marie-Claude Bibeau, on behalf of François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Industry.
On the same day, funding for research infrastructure projects supported through the John R. Evans Leaders Fund was also announced. The amount allocated to UQAM is more than $2.7 million.
